Frequently Asked Questions
What do I wear?
Clothing should not be an obstacle to finding faith in Christ. Casual attire is acceptable to us.
How much does it cost to go here?
Nothing. We do have an offering every week, but Emmanuel is supported financially by the people who have chosen to make it their church home. Giving should never flow out of compulsion or guilt, but rather out of the desire to love God and be a part of what He’s doing in and through the church.
What’s the best way for me to get connected?
There are many ways to get connected, but the best way is to join Connections on Sundays at 11:00 AM. This is a great way to meet people and learn about the staff and all of Emmanuel’s ministries.
What are the prerequisites to become a member?
Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Have been baptized SINCE accepting Christ. Are willing to support this ministry with time, talents, and treasure. Be willing to be held accountable to the church in matters concerning relationship to God and to others.
What is the process of becoming a member of Emmanuel?
- Complete the New Member’s Class (Emmanuel 101).
- Submit the “Application for Membership.”
- Sign a Church Covenant.
- Meet with the pastor or elder.
- Vote of confirmation by the congregation. (a mere formality)
How do I join a Life Group?
We have new Life Groups forming three times a year. So in April, August and December pick up a Life Group Guide and register for a Life Group near you. We also have several Life Groups which you can join at any time. These meet Sunday morning and Wednesday at Emmanuel. For more details go to the Ministry page or pick up a Life Group Guide at the Welcome Center.
